@kaia Probably not because on mobile data roaming, it doesn't want ID. So apparently if you want to bypass the laws about age verification in the most expensive way possible, just route all your traffic through a SIM card from another country with roaming.

@lain @Mellivora They couldn't copy Gitlab's Epics, which are made for that purpose, so they chose to do it the worst way possible I guess. I think it's supposed to be used like Epics for large tasks that are split independently into small PRs, so you don't review a 15K+ PR at once.

I meant it in "Do you know someone that should be here, but isn't yet." way. Because I genuinely struggle with that, the only one I know doesn't care about social media besides following artists (he would hate misskey.io). You can grow the network with interesting features, but at this point I'm not convinced that if you make a good alternative to walled gardens, people will naturally come. We've had that already and it didn't end well.

If you know of people that won't destroy the culture of the network and seek power over everyone like in the great Twitter to Mastodon exodus over 5 years ago, I would be interested. Main thing this network needs is gatekeeping that prevents takeovers of the network. It has been taken over enough as it currently is.

@scathach Pretty much, it is useful for embedded projects that need to be small and portable. HAM radio is great for them, but HAM radio is dead anyway.

The Raspberry Pi community in a nutshell is wannabe homelabbers that know nothing about computers, but think they are extremely knowledgeable. I hate it.
A great example of that are the various undervolting and underclocking threads on the forums. A bunch of users saying "you don't need to do that, the Pi will underclock itself when it gets too hot", "75°C is fine, it doesn't hurt the board in any way" and "get the official case and that is good enough."
@lain There was some fork from years ago that is supposed to be community maintained. Not that I would trust it anyway.

I miss Gitlab from 5 years ago. If it wasn't a slow RoR slop that has critical patches every two weeks and is impossible to self-host, it would be great.
The state of bugtrackers in $current_year is unbelievable. Bugzilla is clunky and sucks; Forgejo/Gitea lacks basic features like a To Do list for MRs and issues (no, pinning a notification is not the way to do it); GitHub UI was a meme even before it was sloppified and turned unusable; the JetBrains one is a bad april fools joke; Gitlab was nice; and don't even mention Jira.

@icedquinn Downloaded the newest version of newsflash, and now my rustc (1.95) is too old. One of the dependencies requires 1.96 which is current release minus one. How can anybody actually use this "ecosystem" is beyond me. Imagine if you had to upgrade GCC/Clang every two weeks to compile software.
