@phnt the amount of rust crates that depended on nightly is one of the reasons i bailed on that community.

the language itself is discount ML but the culture is still entirely javascript

@icedquinn Downloaded the newest version of newsflash, and now my rustc (1.95) is too old. One of the dependencies requires 1.96 which is current release minus one. How can anybody actually use this "ecosystem" is beyond me. Imagine if you had to upgrade GCC/Clang every two weeks to compile software.

@phnt @icedquinn mitra builds with 1.85 - the version of rustc that is shipped with debian stable. There is a lot of garbage in the ecosystem that requires latest rust but if you know how to navigate it you can build complex software with conservative requirements.
