@Mastodon "We didn’t want to require you to have a GitHub profile"

Thank you. I don't think I'm technically-illiterate, but I still can't understand how that site works.

@David @Mastodon it often doesn't 🤪

@Mastodon
Did you guys stop using Zulip or are you keeping it for team coordination?

@tuneintodetuned @Mastodon We still use Zulip internally, but figured out that Discourse would be a better platform to engage with the broader community

@renchap @tuneintodetuned @Mastodon Could you enable AP plugin there? We did that on SocialHub: https://socialhub.activitypub.rocks/ap/about

@Mastodon The kind of "detail" I do appreciate. Thank you !!!

@Mastodon Any chance it would be possible to add logging in/signing up with a Mastodon/Fediverse account instead of having to create yet another one?

@max would be fine! @Mastodon

@max @Mastodon
+1

I am unsure the forum software they are using supports it @max @Mastodon

@WeirdWriter @Mastodon
Software can be modified to do things it doesn't support natively ;) Also at least an ActivityPup plugin exists for Discourse already, not sure if that allows login/posting too but would be a good feature to add if not.

@Mastodon Thanks for being inclusive with the non-techies with that community!

@Mastodon Great thx. Also thx to @codinghorror & team for providing that excellent piece of software.

@Mastodon Seems like all categories are about "the app". It that the *mobile* app, or does that cover the *web* UI? And if not, then what category should I use to report something about the *web* UI?

@Mastodon Answering myself: the web UI is one of the "apps", and there's a "web" tag.

@Mastodon amazing! Why not just a classic mailing list?

@machocam s/classic/archaic/

It works! It has given us the oldest running archives of open source discussions. Nothing stuck in some db schema nobody will bother to parse in 15 years.

@machocam works doesn't mean fits
