“And while China’s getting there, an executive in the U.S. aren’t so convinced that’s true.”

Why does this sentence bother me so much?

  1. “China’s” is a possessive and makes no sense.
  2. “an executive” is singular, “aren’t” is plural
  3. "that’s true" is surperfulous and already understood

Does this sound better? “While China is getting there, executives in the U.S. aren’t so convinced.”

Also who the hell cares if existing execs aren’t convinced lol
