Dear Fedi, advice and suggestions please! My father is losing his eyesight due to age-related macular degeneration; he has some peripheral and distance vision left, but almost no near vision, and is for example unable to read either screens or print. Might anyone have any ideas for making his life easier, either with assistive technologies (which is the best screen reader?) or general tips for navigating daily life?
Boosts for reach welcome!

@mothninja my mother in law had severe macula degeneration. We lost her last year when she was almost 102 years old. Things that helped: she used a Walker. My husband stickered it with red/white striped tape so it would resemble a walking stick for the blind. She couldn't recognise people anymore and people didn't realise that she was practically blind. She would always tell people "I cannot recognise you, please tell me your name". We had a button made with that text.
