Gays, how do you feel about straight girls in gay bars when it's a live DJ night?

I’m not gay nor have I been to a live DJ night at a gay bar nor am I a straight girl, but I would wager that anyone coming in a gay bar isn’t a problem as long as they’re not being a dick, just like with any other bar.

I imagine one reason for coming to a gay bar as a gay person is to feel more confident in who you can “approach”.

People are still going to say no? It just increases the density of options.

Yeah, that was my only point, that it reduces the risk of hitting on someone who doesn’t share your preference.

You’ll run up into that barrier everywhere. It’s called discrimination for a reason.

Not entirely sure if I understand your comment, but I guess my point is that a gay bar would be a place where you don’t expect to run into that. 👍

More the merrier, just don’t be a dick.

There’s a pun in there somewhere.

I am for it. Side note, some straight people are questioning their sexuality and should be allowed access to spaces where they can learn and explore in a safe way.

I’m a gay woman and I’m cool with it. More women the better.

Hard dislike, if you aren’t in company of actual queer folks (or do outnumber them massively).
I get that especially straight women see it as a safe place (and I wish there were more of those) - but where there are straight women straight men usually follow - and at some point they outnumber “us”. And now I do not feel welcome at the only gay bar in town - it is most of the time essentially a bar with some queer decoration.
Some gay bars in the next bigger city do not allow women for this exact reason. Others enforce it via kinky attire dress code (e.g. leather, rubber, lycra, puppys, etc.) - but that can be annoying when you don’t have a specific kink for that dress code and this may not have the required outfit.

Honestly sometimes I’m not even sure if I’m in a gay bar. I live in Bushwick and I’m told this is supposed to be the gay capital of Brooklyn and I don’t see it, there are just !men all over the place.

I’ve never even been to a gay bar. Or a bar in general for that matter. But I do imagine the bars would have trouble paying rent if they only let queer people in.
