Imagine, you made a good service. Or got in control of a service, and made it good. Doesn't really matter what service it actually is, imagine whatever you think first

People are impressed. They like your service. You get a stable paying audience, and your business feels confident in tomorrow

Then your reputation spreads. People from everywhere hear of you, and want to use your service, instead of one they currently use, because their service sucks

Then this gets to a point, where you simply can't fit all these people in
Some old-timers start spreading toxicity, because they don't feel elite anymore

What'd you do? Do you limit entering? Add face-control? Kick newcomers, because they aren't your true customers? Support that elitist group and see what they'd do?

Nah, that would be really stupid way of doing business. Instead, you scale up. Get more resources, and put them into providing good service to more people. Moderate toxics

But why on earth, when it's about governments...

@drq I think there's two kind of apps, or even use-cases

Type 1 is a tool. You get it to do the task, you do the task, you put tool away so it doesn't bother you

Type 2 is a module. You get it, put it in your system, do some wiring and pairing, configure it to your needs. Make some choices. In return, a module will empower you in day-to-day activities, for a long time

neither of those types is superior to other, they are just for different users, and solve different needs

this will demonstrate practically, why good abstractions and thinking do matter a lot

то, что питон выпиливает ассерты при использовании -O флагов, это наверное самое тупое решение, и причина почему эти флаги никто не использует

ассерт это классная штука. Их удобно писать: одна строчка на полтора выражения (булево, и опционально строка с объяснением)

И когда он потом вылетит, то по этой строчке сразу будет видно, где и какое предположение оказалось неверным

Но нет. Удобный инструмент использовать предполагается только в тестах, и линтер на ассерты будет в лучшем случае смотреть косо, в худшем — генерировать предупреждения о том, что если ваш код зачем-то запустят с флагами которые никто не использует, то он будет выполняться не так

после этого в пункте выдачи мне вместо лекарств выдали чей-то чужой, кажется смартфон, хз не копалась

хорошо что я прямо в пункте всё проверила, потому что смартфон мне нафиг не нужен
