A nice spot of Gray's cup lichen from this morning.
Gray's cup lichen (Cladonia grayi) is a pixie cup lichen that looks very similar to many other cup lichen species.
Most of these Cladonia cup lichens cannot be distinguished without complicated chemical tests.
This one contains a special acid that reacts positively under UV light and turns a beautiful ice blue.

"My students (...) mistakenly view a confident, well-written essay as evidence of the quality of their ideas. They see the AI as cleaning those ideas up, getting them through that uncomfortable stretch of having to turn those ideas into prose. What the students miss is that (...) the very act of struggling with how to express what they think is an important part of the process. It’s how they (...) examine their hypotheses, and actually figure out what they think." theguardian.com/commentisfree/

The StandNetflix Lighting: Are Larger Budgets Ruining Cinema as We Know It?By Bethany DowellIt’s undeniable that the final season of Stranger Things looks and feels nothing like the show that premiered on Netflix a decade ago. Like many viewers, I felt disappointed after waiting so long for what proved to be a lacklustre conclusion. This prompted me to revisit season one and question whether nostalgia had blinded me. However, it hadn’t at all; there genuinely was a loss of visual charm as the show progressed. Both the early and later seasons adopt the “corny” eighties-s

Really, if you don't know Russian but decide to learn Russian, I really recommend checking out Max Frei's "Labyrinths of Echo" series (and it's two followup series) once you get comfortable with the language.

It's like isekai into a fantasy world, but that fantasy world is very unique and full of interesting details, the story itself is kind of a magical detective story, but it's not very focused on that, instead it's a lot of talking and eating, and it's comfy and takes it's time to explore the world and characters.

There is an official english and german translations of first book, but not much else, so I don't know if I can recommend those. There is also a good unofficial audiobook in russian with one actor but really good acting that the voices from it became canon in my head (forgot the author though, oops).
