No one is disputing the issue of concern legitimacy, we're arguing two issues:

1. If the concern ls legitimate, then the response should be universal, not only to smart glasses but to cameras overall. Right now we see people upset about Flock and Smart Glasses. Okay, what about all the other cameras?

2. We're discussing whether the concerns over privacy outweigh the benefits that the technology brings. You might say no, and that's fine, but there is a legitimate argument for "The benefits outweigh the concerns"

Yes and there are cameras everywhere. On the street, in stores, in restaurants, in Ubers but if someone wears them, they're demonized.

It's not the heat that gets you, it's the hypocrisy.

It's not "something something ableism". It's a tool that allows people to do what they weren't able to do before. distinguish items in the stores. Read menus in restaurants. Discern signs and other inscriptions. Get help from relatives or specialists with video calls instantly, positioning their head.
Okay, if you want to ban smart glasses, ban all cameras in smartphones first. I bet lots and lots and tons of videos were and are being taken with those right now. Yes, videos taken by those people you mentioned. so don't be hypocrite, everything or nothing. And to be honest, that desire to ban everything is really appalling. Ban kitchen knives, they are used by killers. Oh, and forks also, btw, they are dangerous as hell.
It's people's responsibility to observe laws, and it's the countries' responsibility to catch criminals.
You see a nasty person filming something he or she shouldn't? Get this person, fine, sue, whatever. but banning the whole technology because it can be used by criminals seems absurd to me.

I am feeling very angry right now. Since uninstalling this latest version of EdSharp, every time I try to start JAWS I receive the following error. Script Load Error Error: The file C:\ProgramData\Freedom Scientific\JAWS\2026\Scripts\enu\homer.JSB could not be opened I'm hoping that I can do a system restore to an earlier restore point. Failing that, I will likely need to repair JAWS. I've learned my lesson.

The idiots can't be allowed to win this one. The disability organizations sure do need to do some positive PR on this issue!

Hey, I just had a brilliant idea, whilst trying to ban smart glasses, how about we get rid of all the cameras and microphones in smartphones as I'm pretty damn sure they're abused a lot more than smart glasses have ever been. It's a phone, so that let's just use it for making phone calls only like we did back in the bad old days. No more nasty cameras for taking photos or videos, and certainly no more nasty microphones to record people without their knowing about it. Although perhaps having no microphone may be a bit difficult to try and do phone calls. I guess there's always sms.

Funny how many "full stack" #developers treat #HTML and #CSS as an inconvenience, and reduce it to div soup with a sprinkling of #tailwind. Then moan when I suggest that their 60000 dom node sludge could be made performant and accessible by doing it better.
Imagine if I, a front-end dev said I was "full stack" but only used hosted #Wordpress for the backend...
