@GrapheneOS sidenote, i've had to block (edit: stopped counting) unusually hateful drive-by harassers since talking to you today, guess that's what i get for trying to help

hundreds of dollars per month huh... feels great i bet.
your actions matter. you don't exist in a vacuum, everything you do is political, even diet choice or mode of travel and what to compute, especially if the "you" we're talking about isn't a single person but a project. the nth times infinity digit of pi won't matter if computing it boiled off the oceans.
lamps in videogames, as the meme goes, use real electricity, and llm datacenters run quite literally on gas turbines.

i for sure feel like a huge idiot now for ever recommending grapheneos to others, and i really don't know what i'm supposed to do now about my privacy except throw my phone into a river and walk into a forest. i don't know how many more bad news i can take, i just really wish you hadnt joined the llm bozo parade

@GrapheneOS please, i'm begging you to consider that people might be sad and angry and disappointed because they've put a lot of trust in you that they feel is being betrayed. it is actually a betrayal because how are people supposed to trust their operating system, or any computers, now that it's all top to bottom compromised by torment nexus chatbots that make you feel good

@GrapheneOS "additional passes of code review", you keep specifying "frontier models", why exactly do you believe this would make any difference, and how much of that donated money did you or the people you've hired spend on those death cult motherfuckers? how many tons of co2 do you think this took? how many liters of water ruined? how many lines of plagiarized code do you think? don't you love "not now/later" consent dialogs too?
actually, here, real simple, let me quote @jwz for you:

@GrapheneOS as you might have realized these past few days a lot of people hoped those standards included taking a stance and rejecting / banning (yes we know people can just copypaste chatbot output and pretend) the use of that grotesquely unethical technology, no matter how i-swear-im-doing-heroin-responsibly good
it IS bad actually, did you ever stop to consider that maybe all those critics have a point, a lot of very good ones too, before conflating them with a targeted harassment campaign?

@GrapheneOS many of your users spent a number of years recommending others to specifically avoid projects like calyx and "/e/" due to all the technical, security, and privacy reasons tirelessly documented by you, and use grapheneos instead, if they're able, *because* of your higher standards.
and now you keep saying on here that you can't avoid the upstream slop anyway.. others are doing it too, and that somehow makes it ok to use and "carefully" cook your own? this is wrong, and you know it
