you don't like freenet or dat ('pear'). Which p2p framework meets your strict purity requirements?
I just didn't think there was much of a point in using peer to peer for this particular application since I intended to be its moderator anyway.

Maybe a public auditing thing like IIRC WhatsApp said they were doing with key transparency as well (but not Signal; their auditors are a permissioned list of Trail of Bits and Cloudflare). But I still don't understand how those work.

It might not be a common problem, but I think it's an important one.

That's what I meant. If there's a delete or an edit, then the hash chain breaks and it's visible, even if an admin tries to hide it.

Come to think of it, @silverpill this is similar to Mitra. Have you considered writing a forum, and using hash chains for transparency? (A delete or an edit is a visible break in the hash chain)

I wanted someone to implement my plans (and help me specify them further if necessary) and explain as if to a first-year student how everything works and answer questions. Basically engineering-cum-tutoring. Would that be possible? If so, how much would it cost?

It's a centralised forum with signatures and hashes on every post, and hash chains ("blockchains") for threads and boards. All hashes and public keys are cached by the client. For moderation transparency and accountability, so that edits and deletes are visible.
Criticisms of my plans welcome.
Is there anywhere I can hire a software engineer to work on a project for me and simultaneously teach me how they're doing it, so I can learn skills to develop the project and others myself?
How much would it cost?

What ethical problems? No one here actually explains. They just rage.

@silverpill No. If you want a non-AI-written intro, try the video talks: https://freenet.org/about/video-talks/
@sun @silverpill Old Freenet devs also are using SHA-1 in their PGP keys
Replying to @silverpill@mitra.social
@silverpill Why not? Node operators don't do moderation. That uses contracts.
@sun @silverpill Which Freenet? Freenet or Hyphanet?
Replying to @silverpill@mitra.social
@silverpill The new Freenet is not friend-to-friend

@silverpill Admins control ActivityPub nodes whereas everyone runs their own Freenet node.
It works pretty smoothly so far, despite(?) the AI help.

@silverpill Maybe it could be rewritten without AI? It's too neat an idea to go to waste IMO.
@silverpill What are your thoughts on Freenet and Freebird?

@silverpill @ricci Does "servers" refer to PDSs? Because there are even fewer relays. And they don't federate.
