We made a few mockups showing how we think Apple could improve macOS permission prompts to make app-tampering attacks far less effective:

2) Show a clear warning if macOS detects that an app’s signing identity has changed since it was last opened.

Simple changes like these could make it much harder for attackers to trick users into granting sensitive permissions.

1) Display the developer’s signing identity in TCC permission dialogs and when an app is opened for the first time.

Hi there, We’ve noticed increased interest in our little Forgejo instance the last few days (wonder what could it be caused by).

We welcome all FLOSS contributors and we are happy to be home for amazing projects. We’ve not made a dedicated ToS per service yet other than https://disroot.org/tos since our instance was mainly used by small personal projects.

However the increased interest requires us to clear up a few things. While we are working on the additional points on our ToS that we hope to publish soon, and deciding on our policy (mainly surrounding LLM as it seems this is what it’s all about) here are some ground rules we will most likely put:

  1. Non FLOSS license (proprietary software) is forbidden
  2. 100% vibe coded public software is forbidden (we don’t want to be slop machine providers)
  3. Accounts created by and for business (purely commercial) is forbidden (this is already in our ToS though)
  4. Cryptocurrency related projects are not welcome.
  5. We do not provide runners and if we do it will be only for curated list of projects we want to help out (we have simply no resources to do it for everyone)
  6. Git repo is not your free cloud storage for everything and treating it as such is not tolerated
  7. Forking and mirroring just for the sake of it is not welcome (eg. if you don’t plan to contribute to linux kernel don’t fork it)

Happy coding!

Some wild teaser posted by Mozilla on Bluesky. Knowing the track record of Mozilla I don't have a lot of hope but Blacksky has been doing pretty awesome work so I am looking forward to what exactly this news will be.

"India Orders GitHub to Take Down Jack Dorsey's Bitchat Amid Protests"

So I downloaded it. I know, it's Dorsey's. But if this app is working as protest tool, it's worth a try. Who 's also giving it a go?
