Why have Christian crosses become a fashion statement?

Just saw a commercial, for ChatGPT Codex, with a young lady wearing a concealed cross.

I’m seeing crosses everywhere, even from people who have no idea what the Christian story actually is.

What gives?

How old are you and where are you from?

Because in the US it has been a ‘fashion statement’ for decades. Maybe even centuries to be honest.

It has gotten LESS popular compared to the 2000s. Haven’t seen one in a while tbh.
