Dear Fedi, advice and suggestions please! My father is losing his eyesight due to age-related macular degeneration; he has some peripheral and distance vision left, but almost no near vision, and is for example unable to read either screens or print. Might anyone have any ideas for making his life easier, either with assistive technologies (which is the best screen reader?) or general tips for navigating daily life?
Boosts for reach welcome!

@mothninja I helped my late father in law with similar issues. On Windows he found Magnifier very useful for reading. You can also globally increase the UI scale (Settings -> Display -> Scale), or the system font size (Settings -> Accessibility -> Text Size), to make reading easier.

The inbuilt screen reader works ok but can be a kinda rough adjustment. JAWS can be better, but comes with a bit of a learning curve.
