I think I solved it. Although I had curated onboarding on, I also had OPEN_REGISTRATION="true", which I guess overrides INSTANCE_CUR_REG. Oopsie. 🤷♂️
Curious. I have INSTANCE_CUR_REG="true" on my #Pixelfed instance, yet today I noticed there were two users on there that I wasn’t aware of and didn’t approve. How?

It seems to be something about generating signup request emails. They’re not having success though so why persist?
