I've discovered THE best hobby. Just pick a town, join all its local Facebook groups. Then drive there one night with a job lot of gnomes and drop them on a few doorsteps. Then sit back and watch the fireworks.

One local FB page, in a semi rural area and longish roads, has a resident that posts :
" be careful a while van just drove down the street (time , rego) make sure you have locked your doors"
For every single they see a white van.
Apparently only burglars and kidnappers drive white vans.
Crime rate in area is actually very low.
Another local FB group had warning about someone walking around shining lights and " trying to check out houses and unlocked cars"
Reality, just a kir delivering pamphlets to letter boxes. With a head torch. Because it is dark early.
