I have a lewd alt for things I don't feel comfortable posting on main, mainly photos: @lewd_alice@mk.nyaa.place
This is my personyal account. While I will occasionyally post about FOSS stuff, most of my posts will instead be me being silly and gay
(and/or trying to understand the mess that is my brain)

Technically on fedi since 2019, but, uh, that was someone else, while I was just an egg.

but in case someone is maybe listening:
stay away from llms. You'll end up like mozilla. No, you're not special. Every slop coder thinks they have enough experience, they are checking their output and it's fine, and it's the same story every time
do you want your software to be a buggy mess?
Replying to @alice@mk.nyaa.place
I'd like this to be a cautionary tale about adopting llms
but ofc nobody will learn any lessons from this and software quality will keep quickly degrading

and now it crashed
cherry on top
ok, I think I'll stop
fucking slopware

uh oh, i switched to compact mode using the window density settings they now prominently advertise from toolbar customization screen
now menus have even more broken paddings and radii!

firefox really can't decide if there's too much or too little contrast
(also gotta love how "✨ Manage AI controls" is right there. Really shows their priorities)

oh, they forgor to round this one
or add padding in the dropdown below
also: guess which menu style it will use!
— Open image attachment 1 of 1Replying to @alice@mk.nyaa.place
how many different menu styles do we need?
also why does "find in settings" autocomplete my matrix display names?!
(my system accent is red btw)
also great paddings throughout, no notes

great paddings

for the most part tho it's mostly the same thing but with border-radius: 99999px
meanwhile, and i quote,
Interview: Firefox's chief on why he hopes a redesign will help win users from Chromesure, sure
Replying to @alice@mk.nyaa.place
the sidebar is slightly better than in my last post, but not much
passwords is still lacking a background, bookmarks has wrong padding around searchbar, extensions are missing top padding while everything else has too much top padding
not beating vibe coding allegations anytime soon
oh they didn't
not a great first impression of this new redesign

slop on my timeline
one of the things slop has ruined is: I used to go through popular apps to see what ui patterns they use to design widgets/api around that
now it's a lot more difficult - the very premise of this research assumes that there's intent behind what apps are doing, and that only really works if the app was made by people
now that any new app may be slop coded, and consequently what patterns it uses may have been decided by the gods of RNG and has no intent whatsoever, so I'd have to check every app to make sure it's not slop
thanks ai companies
