Daily MirrorYour rights if a hotel refuses to serve English food on a foreign holidayA consumer rights champion has explained the rules after one woman had to eat Greek food every day on her Greek holidayReplying to @webhat@infosec.exchange
@webhat @davep @stephenfarrow well surely compensation should only apply if you had been promised "English Food" in advance? Which here the complainant seems to mean being offered a full English Breakfast.
Given they say they had ulcerative colitis, they should be be checking whether a hotel can offer a suitable menu before booking.
Personally, while I have no strong dieary preferences, I would go out of my way to avoid a hotel offering "English Food" by checking what is on offer before I book a hotel abroad.

@marjolica @webhat@infosec.exchange @davep@infosec.exchange @stephenfarrow or if she checked the menu, having medical needs, it may have been safer to find a self catering rental
