Nope

I am unsure why they bother, who would subscribe by that route, people are not just immune to those tactics but actively irritated. They turned my indifference to their site into distaste.

Just use reader mode to view the whole article.

Paywalled.

Right click ellipses in the upper right corner, go to the browser, then repeat and choose READING Mode. Works on most sites

Thank you for posting a decent link.

I’ll never understand why humans are so terrible to each other. That poor girl.

Thank you for posting a decent link.

To be fair, Wired has been around forever and still one of the last good journalistcic institutions…

They’ve just always been heavy handed with paywalls.

It’s always 100% worth the time to find the link for their articles, and most of the time the OP can’t use or even provide one depending on community rules.

It just irks me when people say “paywall” instead of taking the two seconds to find one that works to fix the problem

Ew why would you post a paywalled link?

It’s a bot

Thank you.

Y’know, it’s funny, but I can’t recall ever having heard even one thing I would consider positive about fraternities in the US, and now I discover them tangled up in this matter too. Why are they allowed to continue to exist, when their whole purpose seems to be manslaughter, rape, defamation, and alcohol abuse?

Key words “seems to be”. The primary purpose is just to hang out, drink, party, but they also do philanthropy fundraising and community service. But that doesn’t make the national news.

They are in large part social clubs for the rich ruling class families to send their kids to in order to gain connections to other rich families. Which explains why they act this way and why the repercussions are so often minimal. There are other types of frats that aren’t exactly like that but this describes the bulk of them

Wow that’s just fucked up. I hate that the likelyhood of them facing any consequences for their actions is slim to none.
