Honestly I think the current logo is the best of the ones presented. It is a simple line drawing which means it’s easily recognizable as a tiny thumbnail. It is a bit awkward and simple but also unique and easily recognizeable compared to others which all look very generic.

I think if you want a better logo you may need to actually put in the effort and draw it yourself, AI is bad at coming up with truly unique and striking brand images for now.

You are absolutely right!

Let’s break down the benefits of vibe-coding a larger blocklist for Lemmy:

🧠 Skill atrophy:

Studies have shown that prolonged and repeated usage of an AI model can lower cognitive function of adults. Outsourcing your thinking to a machine does wonders for your learning, attention span, and general curiosity!

🤖 AI training:

Vibe coding contributes to the future stability and usability of training models.

Your answers and prompts are recursively fed to the machine as training, further improving future conversations on similar topics!

🚰 Water usage:

The average vibe coder is not human. They do not require things like access to drinking water.

Instead, potable water is fed into the cooling systems of datacenters. This heated water is then released into local streams and daywater systems, warming them beyond normal levels and disrupting ecosystems. As an added bonus, it also heats the surrounding area!

⚡ Electricity:

Datacenters draw massive amounts of electricity. This can create shortages leading to electricity rationing and higher costs of electricity, even in towns miles away!

🦻 Noise pollution:

A datacenter running thousands of computer fans at once, as well as backup diesel generators, can be loud enough to hear from over a mile away. Running these diesel generators also create the usual pollutants from burning diesel. Not only does this bother human residents, it also bothers wildlife!

💰 Tax breaks:

Tax breaks are often afforded to companies constructing datacenters. This takes money directly from the local budget, putting it into the hands of multi-million dollar corporations.

👷 Job opportunities:

Datacenters are often said to bring job opportunities to an area.

While this may be true for the 1-2 years it is under construction, after that they can require as few as 20 on-site employees!
