Since I'm on Debian the python3 version is not recent enough to install the pip package. This is why I am annoyed by versioning and fragmentation in the Linux ecosystem. Recent versions should be backwards compatible, especially with the same base version number.

I'm not surprised. Python devs instantly obsoleted billions and billions of lines of Python2.7 code with their sunset to v3. This is why I stopped programming in Python altogether.
