@fwc @sneeden I think local ones are gone forever. URLs of remote emojis are stored in the database and could be re-fetched, but there is no tool for that.

@silverpill @fwc @sneeden Some local media might be recoverable by crawling other Mitra instances that have caching enabled and interact frequently, since Mitra stores media using hashed filenames.

@caohuak @fwc @sneeden Good idea. Mitra now has emoji list command that can be used to view custom emojis from a specific instance.

@fwc @sneeden mitra 5.10.0 ships with a new command:

mitra media fetch <url>

It downloads the file and saves it to the media directory with a correct file name.

If you want to restore missing media you can get URLs from the database and then media fetch them one by one.
