@ZySoua Once upon a time, I had a project at the job, I had to install like 10 multifunction printers (the ones with scanners on top) on one workstation so they could work if not simultaneously then at least 3 of them at one time.

An easy task for a Linux machine, but not all of the printers had the appropriate drivers, and they were pretty old. So we had to do it on Windows 7.

I was prepared to feel all fuzzy and nostalgic for the times Windows was at least some degree of good.

Well, my nostalgia glasses shattered immediately when I started seeing "hardware conflict" errors. A pretty much non-existent concept on Linux. This motherfucker can't even enumerate USB devices properly. I had to work through countless glitches and crashes and inconsistencies even when the drivers were by the same manufacturer.

Nah. Windows was never good.

@th3rdsergeevich @ZySoua @drq ima move to LMDE soon
I have a 30 GB partition with it on my 128 GB SSD with /home linked to my 1 TB HDD for testing purposes. I'm watching for any possible issues with software on LMDE specifically on my PC so I'd know how to fix them later when I make my move to Linux. I found a software chain for my music production - Qtractor, LMMS and Audacity, so I'm learning it for the past few months, slowly but surely. LMMS and Audacity are familiar to me, the main issue is Qtractor; it has features like VST3 support, external plugins for mastering without any additional hustle (LMMS is worse in this aspect) and sample slicing right in the playlist, yet it has a confusing UI. Still, this isn't as bad as Ardour lol
Speaking of other software, I use Steam, Kdenlive, GIMP, Paint.net, Krita, Blender, Natron (pure VFX node-based masochism), Odamex, UZDoom, Xash3D, Luanti, SuperTuxKart and SuperTux. Everything is already present on Linux and works well enough, so I've
