Now I'm realizing the Egyptian hieroglyphics block is promising. That would be a lot funnier than Hebrew.
Of course you could combine both, start with hieroglyphics and end in Hebrew and have the DOS equivalent of the Exodus.

One little drawback is that hieroglyphics have kinda bad font support. i see a lot of tofu here

another heiroglyphic problem. Notepad.exe seems to have trouble telling that the UTF-8 heiroglyphics are not UTF-16 CJK ideographs

prepending a UTF-8 BOM would actually be mostly harmless though, it's invisible and not likely to be copyable. but maybe we can make it so the executable still works with the missing BOM.
