Well, despite Captcha's best efforts I managed to log in, and on the first attempt at that.
As a matter of interest @panos why have you set (a version of) Captcha up on here? I don't recall ever needing to fight my way through that on any other instance, or other social media site, I've ever signed up for.

@KrazyKritter to avoid bots - fedi does have a bots problem, and most of them probably come from mastodon.social, which doesn't have any protection.
That said, I've had other complaints about hCaptcha, so I guess I'll have to replace it. I've used reCaptcha in the past, and some bots passed, plus it's Google and I'd like to avoid them.

It's now requiring the users to download some Google app (which only works in Google-blessed devices; GrapheneOS and every other Android fork aren't allowed by Google reCAPTCHA's app) to scan a QR code and "prove human beingness" by doing specific hand gestures to the camera.
