From BMW’s point of view, there has been no change of heart, as the promotional film is ‘not a traditional advert’: ‘The animation is designed to generate excitement for the new BMW iX3 and its appearance in the upcoming film (...). It is not intended to promote the film or serve as a conventional film trailer’, a company spokesperson told heise autos, ‘In that respect, it is not traditional advertising – and no advertising will continue to be displayed in the vehicle.’ BMW has ‘already carried out such displays on several occasions in BMW vehicles’ and received ‘a great deal of positive feedback for this campaign’.
