@FreakyFwoof No no, there are a lot of conversations in this thread, but from a certain tyzbit@toot.now aptly demonstrates @zersiax point perfectly. @jakobrosin

@FreakyFwoof @jakobrosin @zersiax Except most of the time, it's less about what you say but the position you may or may not hold to, simply by what you do or don't say, do or don't boost, do or don't favorite, etc. Case in point, the posts by a certain poster as seen by pulling the parent thread, which is all sorts of sad.

@jakobrosin @zersiax If only we gave everyone the benefit of best intentions as a default, but appealing to the emotions in both positive and negative ways is a far easier shortcut even if ultimately not productive.

@jakobrosin I'd say that's the weakness of all social media platforms, not just Mastodon, i.e., they are not designed for long-form and nuanced conversations, and most interactions are overblown reactions to bite-sized contexts. Mastodon is no different, except that it is a microcosm of ideological viewpoints to the mundane. Me? I just don't have the bandwidth or energy to be righteously angry for very long, certainly not to the point of harassing others for a differing, and not even opposing, viewpoint. @zersiax
