Hey #MSM Why is this not a bigger story? #USpolitics
@Flowermob i have no sympathy for either regime, and think the US is losing this war and it's this admin's fault for creating this mess in the least competent way possible, BUT, it does make sense that journos would not give air to propaganda, because that's what it is.
@tshirtman Truth is not propaganda and the MSM publishes all sorts of BS.
@tshirtman @Flowermob we’re long past the point where propaganda from Tehran has more credibility than propaganda from Washington.
@theothersimo @Flowermob i agree, but that doesn't mean that what the Iranian government says has to be reported without precaution, and while i do agree that trump is causing immense damage to US prestige, including the army (which went from "most feared army in the world" to "most expensive army to regularly get its ass handed to itself" in perception), it's clear that the words a minister of a country you are at war with, about your government, have more intent than just what they say, making headlines of them can be irresponsible.
I also can't help but think they fear retribution from the state if they give it too much visibility, but it's not the only reason, there is a more legitimate one, whatever i think of the trump administration (and i think it's terrible, again, i want to be very clear).
@tshirtman @theothersimo I just resent the power that mainstream media has over America when there’s no accountability for the owners of said media. And I understand not publishing Iranian proclamations as is without editorializing to be important. It’s just that their prior failures have resulted in the situation. We find ourselves in because the MSM have been so dishonest for so long.
@Flowermob @theothersimo yeah, that i agree more with, though independent media also has its problems, the MSM does mute things and give more space to things that are ridiculously unimportant in comparison.
