My username is a reference to https://wiki.lspace.org/Ponder_Stibbons, a geek who thinks of himself as the Unseen University's "token sane person". In reality he's as mad as the rest of the faculty.
With hindsight, perhaps this joke is a bit too obscure.

@hannah ISTR a story about a guy who collected parking fees at a council car park for ~20 years. Then one day he stopped turning up and people called the council to ask about the attendant and how to pay, and the council said "Attendant? We've never had an attendant there."
