Just a heads up - a new scam bot is spreading in Fediverse by someone using username SERVICEB0T. If you get a message like one in the screenshot, it is a definite scam. Do not click any links provided by any users in Fediverse claiming to be administrators or moderators and telling you that you need to complete a verification process. There is no system like this at this point in Mastodon.

In general, if any automated verification would be needed, it would be done used actual UI, not link in a post.

Manual verification may be required by some server admins, unlikely, but if they do - at least check that they are them by comparing both username and instance url (if one is shown) in handle to one in your local About Us page. And even then, still voice suspicions and doubts.
