You know your protocol is completely dead in the water when the maintainer of the only Android client and a member of the committee overseeing the protocol does not care about implementing any extension made in the last decade. Truly says a lot about the protocol.

@silverpill XMPP, but it also applies to ActivityPub. They both have very similar issues. Nobody learned from XMPP and OStatus, so it's basically the same but with JSON instead.

@phnt Maybe somebody made a hello world dot js but none of these implementations reached production readiness. And if you look at what they are talking about today at github.com/w3c, it's exactly as you said, everyone pretends that nothing has happened since 2018.
