general politics

i would like to make it absolutely sure

when i'm saying that corruption, nepotism, the necessity of making hard choices, etc. will remain a thing under a socialist society just like in a capitalist one, i am not saying that socialism is inherently bad or won't fix the current society's problems

just that no society is invulnerable to these problems in the long run

capitalism itself, at some point, was a revolutionary movement that solved a lot of problems in feudalist societies

(and, for some "socialist" countries in the late 20th century, capitalism then was a solution to their problems)

right now, the abusers and the oligarchs know how to obtain the necessary resources, connections, etc. to gain power under capitalism's rules

in any other society, they'd be figuring out how to do the same under its rules (much like stalin did in the soviet union)

there is never going to be one perfect system that only needs to be protected and never questioned
