Have you considered it’s not the space you hate but the people who occupy it? Try as hard as you may, you will not find a place for people to talk without finding people talking.

err yeah? it’s the people here who I don’t get along with because I have hobbies outside of American politics, I have no issues on reddit or whirlpool or other places

It can improve if you use the block button liberally, especially on mastodon

trust me I definitely use it, however fundamentally this is taking a place that has like 3 hobbies (American politics, Linux and Left Wing Progressive/American politics) and making it even smaller, this was supposed to be an alternative to reddit but it has like 7 active comms that aren’t somehow related to the above 3, even Lemmy Shitpost is filled with American/Left Wing Politics ALL the time
You’re going to say next: be the change you seek and I am however I am a drop in the American ocean
why don’t you bring all your rightwing friends and make it the place you want it to be, this place sucks for you because it works with people actually doing things. You want work done for you, go back to reddit

I don’t know what that means sorry, can you explain further?
A quick look at your profile shows you’re clearly in your zone here (American politics, Linux and Left Wing Progressive/American politics) so that’s good for you at least?
It’s pretty ok, yes. There’s no shortage of platforms, and this one pushes for community control, so its political leaning isn’t surprising, and since I like community control, I fit. You should try to find your community that aligns with you, but with software and communities that favor common working there’s little chance it will not be left leaning
