Mainstream social media have given me a reflex that's both stupid and a little funny: I'm usually aware of what I click, because I know that the algorithm will be feeding me similar content for days, so I restrict myself if I'm not *that *interested in something. And I sometimes catch myself doing it on fedi too: I'm like, ugh, maybe I shouldn't click that, and then I realize: you're in fedi, relax. Your every move is not being watched.
