The English language Wikipedia for the term `Abya Yala` is really poorly written in a way that feels quite diminishing.
Currently the opening sentence is:
"Abya Yala (from the Guna language: 'Abiayala', meaning 'mature land') is used by some Indigenous peoples of the Americas to refer to the Americas. The term is used by some indigenous organisations, institutions, and movements as a symbol of identity and respect for the land one inhabits."

Something like "Abya Yala is an anti-colonial name for the colonized continents commonly referred to as The Americas" feels more appropriate as an opening sentence.

@liaizon Well it's written in the source, because the World Bank needs an operating definition to pursue its stated goal of supporting (or at least not hurting) said peoples with its financing activities. (They did a lot of damage in the past.)

If you want to remove it I'd start from adding other internationally recognised definitions in the section, then when it becomes redundant it's easier to remove. At the moment there seems to be a dearth of sources so it would be more difficult to remove one of the few existing ones.
