I’ve been recommending Mullvad DNS for its adblock functionality. Quad9 does not provide this.
I am now seeking recommendations for an equivalent I can recommend to friends and family for use on devices that do not easily support system-wide adblocking.

You can go with the default Adguard DNS configuration adguard-dns.io/en/public-dns.html
