@technocounselor that's such a kind offer, thank you 💚 and that's awesome work you do. We're in Europe not the US, but I'm going to assume there are similar schemes here, will have a search. Thanks again!

@FreakyFwoof yes you're absolutely right, changing would not be a good idea. He was a die-hard PC fan back in the day, but switched to Apple about a decade ago, and switching again at this point would not help matters at all.

I actually got my father a really cool walker, with a seat and a basket, because he also has balance issues, but he has so far been very reluctant to use it :( hopefully he will change his mind because I think it's awesome. I'm glad you're enjoying yours! 💚
@sbj that's a great idea, thank you!
@ginkka oh interesting, thank you! I will get in touch with the eye doctor and discuss. 💚

@octothorpe @troublewithwords turns out there are two types of AMD, called "wet" and "dry" for some reason, and only one of them responds to the shots, and dad has the other one :(
I'm glad they were helpful to Bill! And that the condition hasn't worsened too much without them.
@FreakyFwoof aaah yes, excellent point, thank you - iPhone and iPad
Dear Fedi, advice and suggestions please! My father is losing his eyesight due to age-related macular degeneration; he has some peripheral and distance vision left, but almost no near vision, and is for example unable to read either screens or print. Might anyone have any ideas for making his life easier, either with assistive technologies (which is the best screen reader?) or general tips for navigating daily life?
Boosts for reach welcome!
❤️
