A man whose mind is a haze of swedish punk rock, fantasies about musclegirls, unhinged wordplay and strong opinions on portable electronics: along with slightly less stubborn views on software.

Type of person who thinks FirefoxOS could've found a foothold if it was built for phones with physical keyboards and shipped with a website creator: instead of effectively just being "iPhone but everything's a webapp" and kickstarting Mozilla's obsession with absurd side projects nobody really wants.

I also have a website, for when microblogging just doesn't cut it:

Banner is from a collage I did of Noah Izumi from Moblie Police Patlabor (for a cop show it has pretty okay views on technology and gender norms).

Profile picture is Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell drinking a can of beer almost as big as she is.

As of 27 April 2026 I only repost/quote posts that I've replied to.
I don't wish to have a profile full of reruns, but I still see the value in signal-boosting the work of others.

...and make sure that their website site links to distros people would want to use, instead of the ~10 that happen to use the Linux-Libre kernel.
(of these distros Trisquel is okay, and some people here swear by Guix)

[I assume this is what @zzt meant by Stallman being "so against proprietary software he prefers when his shit doesn't work on anyone else's hardware"]

Has anything happened on the Bunity front lately?

Many distros are just Debian, Ubuntu, Arch or Fedora with more specific defaults, so it'd be nice if there was GUI for making said defaults (Windows people have unofficially had this since at least XP).

as for Alpine, I think postmarketOS might be in a better position if they didn't encourage smartphone ports until they had DE-agnostic GUI tools for package managment and various sysadmin things (along with more Alpine builds of desktop software and games).
