How do you pronounce the e in 'beta'? I say 'beeta' with a hard e; I'm not a fan of the diphthonged e as my synesthesia doesn't agree with it.

@seedy60 I've been a beta tester for American software since 2004, so I pronounce Bayta. But I've never known someone pronounced it as Best, I mean, someone with english as mother tongue. For me it would be the most natural way, because in Slavic tradition Greek letters are pronounced like this: betta, thetta, dzetta etc.
