Comet's aluminium frame serves two functions:
- Impacts: Acts as a roll cage, absorbing impact before it reaches the PCB/ components
- Thermals: Processor dissipates up to 2W under load; added LTE or NVMe on the M.2 slot means multiple heat sources in a dense package

Two copper plates bond to the aluminium at the processor and M.2 locations. Copper transfers heat efficiently. The aluminium frame spreads it across its surface area.
The frame is also replaceable without touching the mainboard.
