Julio just released a book of the same name and has been touring it around. It was a very sweet interview on the WeSmellGas Collective podcast with lots of birds chirping in the background. You can follow it here at @7867284 to get updates (thru the podcast bridge run by podcastindex.org) or learn about his new book at plutobooks.com/product/decolon

Rooted in abolitionist, anti-colonial and anarchist thinking, Julio Linares takes us from the counter of a community bar onto a journey across debt cancellation, community-owned solar currencies and the burning of dollar bills.

Firefox is rolling out their rebranded M̵u̵l̵l̵v̵a̵d̵ Fastly VPN to Android users today...

(I didn't realize they had two different rebranded VPN services, this one isn't the fascist one, just the neoliberal American one)

Good news - Firefox's free built-in VPN is starting to roll out for Firefox Android users today. If you're using Firefox on Android, you can now access practical privacy protection without needing to download another app. To turn the VPN on, tap the three dot menu > Settings > VPN (you'll need to log into your Mozilla account). If you don't see it available for you yet, please be patient as the feature rolls out.

I have a crazy idea and it is that we should have a World Bitmap Font Week, to celebrate the culture of bitmap fonts, and perhaps pay thanks for their work and contributions to society. Also we can make some fonts.

At this stage it is just an idea, but with a few more people i think we could have a few coordinated blog posts, and maybe some tools, tutorials, and even workshops? I suggest the 10 days starting 2026-10-19.

Who is in? Reply saying yes. And please boost :)

Wow this list of exploits is insane. I wonder if this is a world record for the most CVEs patched in one OS update

Help HOPE Hackers Hop Onto the Fediverse

On Friday, August 14, 2026 at the HOPE conference in New York City, we’ll be running a workshop to help new people join the Fediverse. This is an exciting first for us, and we’d love your help making it a great experience.

Here’s what we need:

  • Open-registration Fediverse servers that are welcoming the HOPE audience. The HOPE conference welcomes people involved in information security, digital rights, as well as experimentation with radio, electronics, and other tech. It also usually has people from New York, New Jersey, and elsewhere in the Atlantic seaboard. If you know of servers that would welcome this kind of new member, please let us know! Even if the server isn’t open registration, but can accommodate new users on the day of the workshop, we’d love to coordinate.
  • First-timer Collections. Do you know of a good starter follow pack that new users might enjoy? Especially if their interests overlap with the HOPE audience. Just some names to follow is a big help, too.
  • New user tips. What helps people get started on the Fediverse? What helps them stay engaged?
  • Volunteers. Will you be at HOPE? Want to meet interesting people and help them get started with the Fediverse? It should be fun and easy.

Please reply to this post with ideas or contact info. This is going to be fun!

Maricela Rueda is still in segregation. There is still no reason being given to why she is being held there. This is a violation of her right to due process. We refuse to let her sit in a dungeon by herself while she is already bearing the burden of being incarcerated. We ask folks to take some time out of their day on Tuesday, July 28th to call and demand Mari be moved out of segregation and into general population! (1/2)

Let’s organise and resist against Big Tech ✊

Join us at Nodes of Resistance, an event series in Berlin organised by @structural_integrity and @capulcu co-hosted with @digiges, @Datenpunks and AiAiSi.

We will open the room to continue debates that started at the #cablesofresistance conference and contribute to a movement as broad and unpredictable as it can be to reflect the diversity of the society that is affected by the Big Tech’s destruction.

Stolon has been updated, big time! Stolon is a lightweight HTML, CSS, JS web code playground build with PHP. It generates flat files code prototypes that can be shared.
Update:
🌱 Code prototypes (stems) are now local by defaults! That means you can play with it on any instance.
🌱 Better client-side screenshots: it is now easier to generate thumbnails.
🌱 Gallery filters and more filters to come
🌱 Custom CSS, CSS color variables
🌱 Revamped directory structure
Huge thanks to @julienbidoret and @macrico for those amazing recent work! Ideas and PR welcome :-)
