Sympathy for people whining about using chrome is a dry well.

The only exception to that is people who are forced to use it for work (or worse, forced to use ChromeOS for work 🫠), but otherwise fully agree.

Yep, Firefox was not consistent with their updates for a while and had an issue not being easily managed. So a lot of IT teams blocked FF. Anyone in a zero trust environment needs apps with consistency. I think Mozilla fixed this but it’s too late for many companies.

I’m not an expert but it was explained to me. Edge and chrome are the defaults.

Still a good thing to keep documenting the many reasons why people shouldn’t use it in my book.

Chromium has a Setting => System => “Continue running background apps when Chromium is closed” which I always uncheck.

Does Chrome have this setting too? Could unchecking it disable its ability to hijack global shortcuts?
