Anything you want to see in HTTParty? Here are some options that Fable brainstormed for me a few weeks ago. I've got persistent stuff pretty close.

High priority httparty feature ideas: persistent connections, configurable retries with backoff, streaming for memory efficiency, and plugin architecture.
