Would you rather be an orphan or have abusive and neglectful parents?
I don’t think these things are comparable and it’s not a competition, just a thought experiment

Different circumstances, different outcomes. I have a complicated relationship with my parents, but that doesn’t mean I want to be an orphan. If I were an orphan, I would be having a different opinion.
