But, in the two main scenarios (governmental collapse, or strict rationing) you wont be able to keep your excess.

If the government collapses, then your 10 neighbors who are faced with their own continuity issues, will demand you share one way or another.

If the government doesn't collapse, they may deter your neighbor from robbing you. But, your assets will be a strategic resource, in which case, the local government will take ownership, and it will become part of rationing efforts.
