how easy is it to use? we just use matrix because it works.

@mischievoustomato absolutely piss easy i havent had a problem since i started using it months ago. I cant even maintain a 3 person matrix server without periodically having peoples chats become unreadable to each other

we've never had issues with matrix..

@fwc you've run shit, what do you think? but getting all people to move to deltachat would be hurd
Replying to @mischievoustomato@0.5dollah.click
@mischievoustomato Yeah, that might be the biggest challenge. I'm sure I could figure out how to host if I stop being lazy

@fwc @mischievoustomato What do you think about adding chats to mitra? Would that make sense?
Replying to @silverpill@mitra.social
adding chats (what i assume are pleroma dms?) would make sense, but, we have some friends that are not on the fedi! But it'd be good to have.

@mischievoustomato @fwc Group chats - just like matrix / xmpp.
Replying to @silverpill@mitra.social
that'd be good, but not 1-1?

@mischievoustomato DMs are already supported, they just look like regular posts. If groups chats are desirable, we could add a new section to web UI, call it "Chats" for example, and display DMs there as well.

@silverpill @mischievoustomato I'm not against it, but if you decided to implement something like that, I think it should be interoperable with other Fedi software. Otherwise, I'm not sure it will be all that useful. Pleroma chats were always very niche to me

@fwc @mischievoustomato Yeah, it will be interoperable. There is a couple of projects implementing discord-like chats, including a matrix bridge https://github.com/Haven-Organization/matrix-appservice-activitypub
