Would you rather be an orphan or have abusive and neglectful parents?
I don’t think these things are comparable and it’s not a competition, just a thought experiment

I am so frequently reminded that not everyone got an amazing parent like I had, and even my less amazing, drug using parent, was never the type I hear about so often. I’m so sorry the world is an unkind as it is, especially to kids. Y’all deserve and deserved better <3

Same here. My parents didn’t drink, smoke, or use drugs, raised four kids without religion, and loved us very much. Nevertheless, as a kid I found reasons to complain, but not many. It wasn’t till I grew up and heard stories of how others were raised that I realized how just good I had it.
