What about blind children who will want or need to use smart glasses for navigation throughout the building? If a teacher distributes a print handout, will a blind child be allowed to use a cell phone's scanning app to read it? These full bans on some of these technologies really concern me.

@serrebi @DavidGoldfield I did things in the 80's and 90's as a totally blind kid no problem and I didn't have smart glasses or AI or any of that. So wonder of wonders things can still actually be done!

@jpellis2008 I certainly managed in a public school without the use of today's technology. However, even with my fairly decent travel vision, I still needed to lean on the kindness of other sighted kids for help. With today's tools, there would be no need to do that. When print handouts were given to us, the teacher would have to take me aside or assign a reader for me. Today's tools eliminate that need.

@DavidGoldfield @jpellis2008 Yeah no, my kid is starting kindergarten tomorrow, she was in the public re-k last year, barely any of the student or parent portals worksheets, documents, and such were accessible to screen readers. Hell I cannot even read the newsletters for parents, the official communications from the district, or pretty much anything they send.
