People love to talk about LLMs but not about the (fascist) politics associated with their favorite toys.
Every time I bring up one of the *many* issues with the "AI" companies, the conversation isn't "light" enough for them anymore and they shut down the conversation, so that they can continue to blissfully ignore the harms and externalities of what they love most talking about.
Take for example the app that helped me learn Swedish. A few days ago, it became public knowledge that Anthropic made a 42 billion USD loss in 2025. Some users of that language app keep demanding ever more LLM features: Grammar explanations and story generation. After the app developer ignored my pictures of wildfires, I appealed to his business acumen.
If he is forced in 1–2 years to take away a beloved feature from brain-fried non-technical people, they'll hate the developer. Much more than they dislike the decision today to not get the feature in the first place. The 2026 loss will be even higher.
The users asking for more LLMs mocked me: "Oh, now you're not just an AI expert, you're also a business expert?" The notion to have informed opinions is already inconceivable to brain-fried people if it contradicts what their cult says.
They called me uneducated and said I don't even understand how businesses make money. Of all companies they could have picked, they used Palantir as their example. Palantir also made billions in losses at first, that's just how you have to do it, and now they're doing brilliantly!
I quoted him that Peter Thiel line from last week, "If you're evil, you're actually good." I asked him if he'll quote Hitler next or just Palantir's CEO, Alex Karp, who's currently committing genocide in Gaza. I commended him on the people he admires and asked him to teach me more about how businesses make money under capitalism. But I also recommended him to read "The Nerd Reich" by Gil Duran.
The app developer deleted my comments because they weren't light enough for a language learning forum. "Let's keep it light and on topic, yeah?" Now the conversation in the forum is back between the developer and the user about how to integrate the requested feature.
Laughingly we walk into the chainsaw. I'm so tired of people without principles.
