And the internal cabin arrangement with the cramped plastic seating. This plane is ugly inside too.

Tech companies hoping to keep certifications that allow them to get customers do not “move fast and break things”. This kind of ghetto process should definitely hurt business.
For instance: at my day job where I tech-whore to big ents and govs, about 10% of our time is spent only in meetings where we review what’s happening and how: and that kind of transfer would have a schedule, stakeholder sign-off and listed processes to follow and review. There’s post-incident reviews and follow-ups in case of the slightest deviation or surprise, and the process is refined each time. That kind of sloppy work wouldn’t survive.

Nice catch. I read it as “was sued” vs “has sued” without noticing. I should read more carefully.

What’s a repeater magnet?

Fun fact: Logan TSA asked the FAA for paperwork showing those things are safe. Anything.
FAA said fuck you.
That’s kinda all I need.
I know the anecdotes say it’s good. But with anything introduced hurriedly and without clear need - we know the TSA doesn’t have good track record anyway - the hype-to-utility ratio is too high.

Mature software doesn’t need hourly updates. All the shit that leverages the library repos in horribly unsafe ways - ohai npm - that stuff needs constant updates.

Those of us who have asked to avoid the cancer box and been subjected to a subjectively punitive pat-down and fashion show experience are already anticipating just that. Yay!
(And for added fun, call it a cancer box. Wow, when you get that one TSA who only has bad days will you get a great speech as well)

99% of Canada lives within 100mi of the US border, and armed agents have invaded Canada to kidnap a Canadian for ‘breaking’ an American law as a Canadian not breaking any Canadian laws, on Canadian sovereign soil, so they can render that person to America and convict there.

This crusade against bad datacenters - poor cooling, poorly located, wasteful - is mislabeled as a crusade against ALL datacenters.
Mislabeled? Yeah. I’ve worked with personal info - the kind you don’t want leaked (PII) - for years. You need that shit secure. You only do that with a very secure building designed to hold and protect all that storage for all those databases - healthcare info, courts docs, land title surveys, buried pipe maps, your bank account, 3tb of Epstein files - so it’s stored, secured and accessible only where required.
That’s a datacenter. We need that one. But, like some others, this crusade will target those too. It’s a classic baby-with-bathwater issue.
And maybe that’s what they want: they’re okay with crunchies killing 80 years of climate records and the Epstein files because both hurt the same dirtbags.
Maybe we keep those datacenters around? Maybe we notice the difference between that one and whatever the hell musk has done? Maybe we protest the musk one as a Toxic Datacenter or part of Datacenter Blight instead of saying they’re all evil?
Nuance is so hard these days, but just think a sec.
